About Me

In a nutshell, I am a former elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom to my two beautiful children, Emerson and Grayden. I’ve also been very happily married to my best friend and high school sweetheart for the last 21 years. I owe so much of who I am to his love and support the last 28 years together. He is without a doubt my number one cheerleader and my constant rock. My children and my husband are absolutely everything to me and I am so thankful for them!!

Being a stay at home mom keeps me super busy but when I am not up to my eyeballs in laundry, cleaning, chasing kids, and helping with homework you can almost always find me in the kitchen trying out a new recipe or baking up a sweet treat. I consider cooking and baking to be my therapy so naturally, the kitchen is my “happy place“! It’s where I can unwind, relax, and clear my head. There is nothing better then diving into a beloved recipe and creating something wonderful for others to enjoy!

I’ve been an avid home cook for years and I take every opportunity to read up and learn as much as I can. People have always complimented my cooking and are usually asking me for recipes and tips so a while back I decided to start a FB group. Having the FB group has been a fun way to connect with people and share what I know but I wanted to write more and do more which is why this blog was born. My main goal is to share with people that delicious, home cooked food doesn’t have to be complicated, fussy, and time consuming. There are so many great meals and desserts that can be pulled together simply and easily and that’s what I hope to show people through this blog. Gourmet, complicated recipes have their place but most people are looking for easy every day meals that their families will love. My hope is that “The Simply Delicious Kitchen” becomes a resource for many of the home cooks that are out there.

  1. I have never come across anyone who makes the “Macaroni Pie”. We have been making in our family for generations. When I tell people about it – they always think I’m talking about the meat pies. We always make it on Good Friday – since it a day of no meat in our family.
    Thanks for bringing a smile!
